The Clock Tower
The Renaissance Clock Tower is located on the north side of Piazza San Marco, was built in the late 15th century. With the phases of the moon and the Zodiac, the clock enamelled in blue and the li myth was originally designed for the navigators. The legend tells that once finished, the two inventors were've managed the eyes to avoid that it produced copies, figures of the Magi emerge from the side doors and pay homage to the Virgin and Child, whose depictions are placed in a niche above the clock. Above, the winged lion of San Marco stands out against the blue background punctuated with stars. At the top the two statues in bronze, (the "mori" for their dark patina), sound the hour.
