The Last Supper of Leonardo
Located in the refectory of the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Cenacolo Vinciano represents one of the most famous works and copy of history. Made by Leonardo between 1494 and 1497, fifty years after the last supper was already damaged to such an extent that the Vasari defined it as "a stain dazzled".
In 1943 miraculously escaped to the bombings that did the collapse of the ceiling and the right wall of the refectory; until the end of the war was protected by a military tent and sand bags. In the course of the centuries the Cenacolo has undergone numerous ridipinture and restoration.
